What are Positive Affirmations?

Share this positive affirmations page with a friend or
bookmark it for yourself.

Positive affirmations are short yet powerful phrase, that reflect upon SPECIFIC changes you want to make in your life. The interesting part is affirmations are written in a manner as if they have already been achieved. They should tie in with the goals you have set for yourself. It’s more beneficial that the two relate to each other, since they are both based on an areas of your life that you would like to improve and accomplish.

The more you firmly believe you can achieve what your positive affirmations state, the more likely you are to realize
what you desire.

By repeating these positive thoughts regularly, you will be training your mind to act as if you have already received what you desire, which ultimately paves your way to really attaining them.

Before we get to some simple tips you can use, make sure you have your goals handy. What’s that, you haven’t created a list of your goals? Visit our goals page first, for simple, yet powerful tips on how you can set your goals right now.

Alright, so you have your goals and you are ready to go…

Below are some tips on how to create some really powerful positive affirmations, and what you should do after you have created them.

Creating Your Personal Affirmation and Plan of Action

1. Clearly Identify Your Desires - To do this, write down a simple and clear statement of what it is you want. Be as specific as possibly and try to define just how much of it you desire. Your positive affirmations should be positive and stimulating. It’s more than just a statement; it should spark your inner drive to succeed. Be sure to make your statement as in the present, so you begin to train yourself to do everything in your power to make it happen.

In a few moments we will get to some examples, for now just read on…

2. Speak Out Load and With Feeling - This may sound a bit corny but it works. Whenever possible say your affirmation statements out loud, for the best results, and you will begin to immediately feel the excitement of yourself living your dream. Looking in the mirror while doing so, has also been known to have additional benefits as well. This may feel even more awkward that just reading them aloud, but it is the most effective method. Speak with complete faith and determination so that your mind receives it and begins to process it as having already accomplished it.

3. Write it and See It - Write your positive affirmations on cards and keep them in places where you will see them the most. Place them in your cell phone, on your mirror, in your car, your wallet, or wherever else you will notice them. If you work behind a desk, as many of us do, you can set them up in your email system as reminders and have them pop up periodically, as well. However you choose to do it, be sure to read them daily as a reminder to you of all the things you desire.

4. Repeat…Repeat - Repetition is an essential part of your affirmation. When you learn to repeat, you create habit and this strengthens the way you will carry yourself.

5. Create a Time Line - Determine when you wish to possess these desires. If you want specific things then clearly write those things down in the order you want them and establish specific dates you wish to possess them.

Always remember, positive affirmations are simple, yet useful and powerful tools you can turbo charge your way towards achieving the goals you have set. Below are some examples you can use as a format, to help get you started in creating YOUR affirmations for success.
